Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers ~ Business Cards

Kris from Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers is a friend of mine {now in real life too} and after we both attended the Relevant Conference this year, we talked about putting together some new business blog cards for her.

The front design was based on her current blog button ~ a ‘warning’ sign look. Her website name as well as her blog tag were include on the front image.

The back of the card carries over the red stripe design along with her full name {I know the below image only shows her first name, but her full name is on her real card ~ grins}. She wanted her picture on the card and we included key info on how to reach her: website, email, facebook, and twitter information.

The corners on the card were rounded after printing and gave it an extra fun little touch. Cute, no?

I found a GREAT company to work with ~ GotPrint.com and she was able to order 500 rounded corner business cards for $30 {and that included s/h}! The cards were printed on heavy stock with a gloss finish.

The result? She loved them!!

“I got my business cards yesterday.  They turned out GREAT!!  Even Brian and the kids were impressed.  Thanks so much for the great job you did on them!”

Daze of Adventure ~ Blog Makeover

Bright and bold colors…and a design that I am completely in love with! Jennifer from Daze of Adventure contacted me a little bit ago to make over her blog and after looking and looking for graphics we found the cutest little car {from Fotolia}...which then set the course for the whole blog!

blog header

We kept much of her original layout in place, just tweaked the colors, some sizing and rearranged a bit. In addition to her new header, Jenn is sporting some cute new sidebar titles, top navigational buttons and a new blog button.

Homegrown Learning ~ Blog Makeover

Crystal at Homegrown Learning loved the background pattern that she found on Pyzam and wanted to keep that in place with her blog redo {and it was definitely cute!}. I tweaked the template some to make the columns and colors more what she was looking for and more reader friendly {the background was burgundy and is now white, making it easier to read}.

I found a graphic in Microsoft clip art and also used some pictures of her boys to put a new header together for her.

image I also put together some navigational buttons underneath her header along with some cute sidebar titles and a new blog button.

Thanks so much Crystal for working with me and letting me put a little more ‘you’ into your blog! :)

Giving Up On a Clean House {Blog Makeover}

Stacy at Giving Up on a Clean House asked for a blog redo and we found a great graphic in Microsoft clip art that I was able to tweak a bit to work for her header. As a mom she juggles many things ~ but her focus is to slow down and focus on what really matters ~ her family.

Once her header graphic was in place, the colors of her blog were based from the image. Her new blog look included a header, blog button, sidebar titles, new background and social media buttons.

Blog Design ~ Simply at Home

Wendi from Simply at Home wanted a whole new look on her blog and picked some bright and cheerful colors for her blog after finding the cutest graphic at Fotolia. She has three kids ~ and the momma bird that she found had three little ones of her own.

image

We did a little bit of everything for her ~ a new header and background, a blog button, sidebar titles, and also a top navigational bar.

Be sure to stop by and visit Wendi at Simply at Home and say hi! She’s joined up with the Homeschool Crew this year and will be writing curriculum reviews too. :)

Our Worldwide Classroom Blog Makeover

Kylie from Our Worldwide Classroom asked me to do a full blog makeover for her…and we had much fun ~ especially once we found the CUTEST monkey graphic from Fotolia.com to represent her three kiddos!

I did a little bit of everything for Kylie ~ header, background, buttons, sidebar icons, drop-down navigational bar..and a few behind-the-scenes widgets too. Fonts used: Desiger and Calvin & Hobbes.

Here’s a little peek at a few of the graphics from her blog:

Gramma’s Cookin’

Elizabeth from Gramma’s Cookin’ was looking for a new header and a blog button to spice up her cooking blog. We tweaked a great graphic that we found on fotolia.com and made it ‘fit’ for her site. Elizabeth also loves fun fonts, so I used Saginaw and Honey Script {two new fonts I recently downloaded} to put her header and button together.

Here’s a peek at her header and button:

Be sure to stop by Gramma’s Cookin’ and say hi to Elizabeth. She has some great recipes to share ~ and one for Cherry Limeades that I’ll be trying soon!

Eclipsed ~ Blog Header and Button

Kris from Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers has another blog she started last year that documents her weight-loss journey. To date, that girl has lost 50 pounds and is doing AMAZING!!

She asked me to design a header and button for her Eclipsed ~ Escaping the Shadow of Obesity blog. She is a HUGE fan of the Twilight books and movies, so the font I used obviously had to look similar to the Twilight font!

Here’s a peek at her blog header and button:

A Picky Customer

Both of my girls have been watching me put together headers and blogs for other people and finally demanded their place in line. :) Each of our girls has a blog that they use for school assignments and for a few special people to read ~ grandparents and such.

Laurianna was first in line and we’re still working on McKenna’s, but here’s a peek at hers. She was so excited to help pick the colors and graphic {can I just say Fotolia is an amazingly wonderful place to find inexpensive graphics?}.

My Great Life sample

We’re still working on McKenna’s blog and header, but I have a little more editing to do before it’s finished! Just wanted to share with you since it was so sweet ~ and very much Laurianna.

Traditional Simplicity

Michelle @ Traditional Simplicity  was looking for something simple and basic for a blog header and button ~ but yet still have it stand out. She has a Wordpress blog which made it fun for me to experiment and see how Wordpress works behind the scenes.

She searched through some images on Fotolia.com {a wonderful place to find inexpensive yet great graphics} and found something that she wanted to use in her header. Her current layout and background were simple {shades of grey}, so we added in a little green butterfly to give her header and button a little ‘pop’.

Michelle will be attending the Relevant 2010 conference with me in the fall  ~ can’t wait to meet her in person!! Thanks so much, Michelle, for giving me a peek into Wordpress and working with me.

Along the Way

Cindy @ Along the Way is a homeschooling friend of mine who wanted to do a little simplifying and rearranging on her blog. What started out as just a header and blog button resulted in an entire blog re-do {and lots of fun in the process}.

Cindy found the cutest graphic at iStockphoto, so her new blog design was based on the colors from that graphic. She loved the polka-dot background she had previously, so we kept that as part of the new look.

image

A top navigational bar was added under her header so that her readers could find her resources quickly without needing to do a lot of searching around her site. A few other ‘features’ that were added ~ new RSS, Twitter and Email buttons and a cute little blog button that others can grab to link back to her site:

I have to say that I love her sidebar titles though! These turned out so cute:

Just a Little House

Julie at Just a Little House was getting started blogging and had the best tagline for her blog ~

Our house is just a little house…

…but God knows where we live!

We found the perfect graphic to go along with her tag and worked from there. Here is the header from her blog ~

Not Before 7

image

When I saw this clock graphic, I emailed Mary at Not Before 7 right away and asked if I could make her a new header for her blog…which then turned into a fun makeover for her blog.

Over the last year I’ve also had fun making buttons for Mary’s weekly meme called Tiny Talk Tuesday. Here are the last two buttons for the Fall of 2009 and Spring of 2010.
